We have purchased a Starlink 4x kit to install at our Canadian cottage and set up service for the first time this summer. Normally, during the offseason we completely shut down all electricity to the cottage. While I intended to put our starIink into standby mode for the offseason to avoid reactivating fees each year, we have no use for the actual standby mode low speed internet. But I’m wondering if we need to keep the dish powered up during the offseason in order to keep it updated, and perhaps more importantly to keep the snow and ice from building up on it. I would appreciate any advice.
