Best plan type

Hi, I just recently signed up with Starlink. When I signed up, I chose the residential max. I just received my Starlink kit yesterday in the mail and will be setting it up in the next few days. My question is there is four adults that live in my home. We have no TV we do no gaming no streaming anything like that. Just basic cell phone use, normal cell phone use. And will have security camera running off of it. My question is is the residential max too much for our needs or would the 100 for $50 a month be enough for our needs.

Edit… I just remembered I chose the residential max in order to get the free Starlink mini. Would I be better off to just buy the Starlink mini and go to the 100 plan instead? Thank you

In your situation I recommend Residential 100 Mbps. It's more than enough for what you described. By picking the 100 Mbps plan, you are saving $75/month ($130 vs $55 per month). That pays for an outright Mini purchase within 4 months. Also, the Mini rental requires a $10/month Standby Mode fee. A purchased Mini is allowed to completely cancel service, and not use Standby Mode if you choose not to. That's additional savings to consider.

Alternatively, you could keep the Mini rental assuming you keep paying the $10/month Standby Mode fee, and still downgrade your plan. Starlink allows this as long as you keep paying for the Mini Standby Mode fee.
