Yep missed this one while on vacation. I will need to make a video on it. Kind of crazy to double the price without adding any features. Standby Mode hasn't even been around that long, and it's already gone up 100% in price from launch.
It's pretty clear to me that Starlink's goal is to funnel as many people into Standby Mode as possible. They want consistent monthly revenue. Roam users with purchased kits, that only activate Roam a handful of times per year is not consistent. So they started giving out Mini kits for free, with a requirement to keep it on the $10/month Standby Mode. Now people pay even if they aren't using their equipment. It's a great corporate business idea, but not really good for customers considering most of the features of Standby Mode were previously offered by Starlink for free on every dish sold.
