Starlink is adding a speed limit to all Roam and Priority plans for in motion use. As of March 1st 2026, Roam and Priority plans don't support in motion use above 100 mph. You'll get a message in the Starlink app if you exceed the speed limit, and your service will be restricted.

With Roam and Priority no longer supporting speeds above 100 mph, this leaves the general aviation community in a bit of a pickle. Private airplanes could previously use a Starlink Mini on the dashboard with a Roam plan to enjoy high-speed connectivity from the air. But now, the 100 mph limit cuts off some general aviation access on the affordable consumer plans.
Starlink is pushing aviation plans. At the same time this speed limit was introduced, Starlink launched new Aviation plans. Aviation 300MPH and Aviation 450MPH are new plans that support higher in motion speeds. The 300MPH plan is $250/month and comes with 20GB of data. The 450MPH plan is $1000/month and comes with 20GB of data. Overage data is available at $10/GB for the 300MPH plan and $50/GB for the 450MPH plan. The big difference between the aviation plans is that the 450MPH plan supports ocean use, while the 350MPH plan is limited to 12 miles offshore.
